The Old Glory Cuckoo Clock is a perfect example of Jodie’s vision: to make cuckoo clocks that reflect our passions and interests.
I’m Cuckoo For America!
Jodie and her partner Mark are passionate about America; mankind’s greatest creation. We are fortunate to have been born at the best time ever to be alive in the greatest country ever created. The brilliance of our Founding has never been more evident than it is today as it is being challenged by exactly the forces our Founders warned us about. This American flag cuckoo clock is a celebration of what is true, what is excellent, what is noble: the United States of America.
A Patriotic Cuckoo Clock
Engraved on the front of the clock are the glorious words of the Preamble of our Constitution; on the left of the clock the Pledge of Allegiance. These are the words that fill the hearts of Patriots! The Old Glory Cuckoo Clock is made to remind us every minute of every day of the brilliance of America.
Supporting American Greatness
We are so Cuckoo for America that we created this clock as our way of helping America keep shining. We have chosen to donate proceeds from the sale of each Old Glory Cuckoo Clock to the mission of educating young people and Americans of all ages about the values that make America great.
American Made
Yes, my clocks are entirely designed (on the farm) and made (in our new workshop) in Hickory Flat, Georgia, using imported German clockworks.
To construct the flag and sides of the clock Mark and Jodie chose poplar, a wood quite similar to the linden wood used in Black Forest clock making. The poplar I use is harvested from the woods in Hickory Flat and milled using a 1950’s sawmill.
For weights, I enlisted the help of a blacksmith in Mississippi who hand forges each weight to the correct size, shape, and number of pounds required to power the cuckoo clock movement.
Authentic Black Forest Clockworks
The heart of each of my clocks is a traditional movement which ACCC imports from the Black Forest. As they have been for over two-hundred years the clockworks used in German cuckoo clocks are made in the Black Forest — even the chains! We do the same, using authentic German Regula movements and Kienzler bellows.
A Bald Eagle Cuckoo
By definition when a cuckoo clock strikes the hour and half hour the cuckoo door opens and a cuckoo emerges to sing. But this isn’t just any cuckoo clock. This is a Cuckoo for America cuckoo clock! This cuckoo is a Bald Eagle — of course!
