While my goal with my cuckoo clocks is to spread smiles, this clock evokes peacefulness as an added bonus. Nothing is more soothing to the soul than a day at the lake. Especially when an animated heron catches a jumping fish! Or tries to anyway.
Note that each clock is handmade. Lead time from order to shipping can be sixteen weeks or more for construction and testing time. When you order I will give you an estimated shipping date for your clock.

After making the Golf Cuckoo Clock I kept envisioning a new clock with lake scene. After sketching out the designs I saw that yes, the plain structure of the Golf Cuckoo Clock would make the prefect canvas. So I made a news case and jumped in.
The lake scene background ended up being a blast to paint. Fabric and quilting are my background, but many of those skills translate. I loved the freedom paint offers.
But what I added in front of the painted face is what makes the clock. The heron and fish I carved from wood. Then sued flat reed for basket making for the cattails. (I knew that box of basket making stuff would prove useful one day.)
For this clock I decided to include a cuckoo door, thinking if I painted it as part of the scene it wouldn’t detract. Yes, I find it fun that the cuckoo makes a surpise (well, we’ll pretend anyway) appearance.

The clockworks are imported from the Black Forest: the Regula 8-day movement, the Keinzler bellows, the cuckoo, and even the lift wires for the bellows. From there, I design and build my clocks at my farm in Hickory Flat, Georgia. They are made as they are in Germany. I know, I shot a TV show there and have been in the factory when I had my first models made there. Plus, I learned clockmaking by taking cuckoos apart.
Please note that we hand craft our clocks either one at a time or in small batches. An estimated ship date from when an order is placed is noted above, but that changes depending upon what is in the queue. When you order a clock I will respond with a firm dates. I appreciate your patience!
When possible, we prefer to hand deliver our clocks, thereby avoiding the inevitable jostling involved in shipping. But we are happy to ship to you wherever you are.
Our clocks are packed carefully with materials particular to each clock. Please keep that box in case you need to pack your clock for shipping one day as the included packing is safest for your clock. Bubble wrap is not a cuckoo clock’s friend!
For clocks to be shipped, the boxed clock is then packed in a shipping box to further protect the clock.
We charge only the cost to ship, using UPS inside the United States and either Postal Service or DHL to Canada.
Yes, I do ship outside of the United States. We charge the actual cost to ship to you.
Each of our clocks is hand crafted using genuine Black Forest clockworks and tested for weeks to keep time and operate perfectly.
