Disclaimer: Do not do this at home! My cuckoo clocks are made for the indoors only!

I just had to do it. I had to see what the Backyard Birds Cuckoo Clock looked like in the natural environment of a real bird feeder. Out to the yard I went and hung it on a tree. A cuckoo clock in the wild of my farm! It looked so good I fetched my camera to take a few pictures. While snapping some shots I became aware of birds nearby and thought…

I put the clock back inside and found a little bucket that would suffice to hold seed, hanging it in the tree in place of the clock. And left it for a few days. Then I switched back to the clock, placing a bit of sunflower and safflower seed on the tray of the clock. After setting up the video camera on a tripod focused on the clock I let it be. Reviewing the footage a few hours later I squealed with delight. The real birds looked so at home on the clock!

(At about 45 seconds in that’s Delight walking by in the pasture right to left.)

Nuthatch Approved!

This was the first bit of video is saw as I reviewed the footage on the little screen of the video camera and immediately started laughing — my clock had received the ultimate honor — it’s Nuthatch Approved!

Yes, I have surely gone cuckoo!
