Gone Cuckoo: The Backyard Birds Cuckoo Clock in the Wild

Disclaimer: Do not do this at home! My cuckoo clocks are made for the indoors only!

I just had to do it. I had to see what the Backyard Birds Cuckoo Clock looked like in the natural environment of a real bird feeder. Out to the yard I went and hung it on a tree. I put the clock back inside and found a little bucket that would suffice to hold seed, hanging it in the tree in place of the clock. And left it for a few days. Then I switched back to the clock, placing a bit of sunflower and safflower seed on the tray of the clock. After setting up the video camera on a tripod focused on the clock I let it be. Reviewing the footage a few hours later I squealed with delight. The real birds looked so at home on the clock!

This was the first bit of video is saw as I reviewed the footage on the little screen of the video camera and immediately started laughing — my clock had received the ultimate honor — it’s Nuthatch Approved!

Yes, I have surely gone cuckoo!
