I handcraft weight-driven cuckoo clocks on my two-horse farm in north Georgia
using movements and bellows imported from the Black Forest.
I am an artist. My canvas is the cuckoo clock.
Made-For-You Cuckoo Clocks
I am inspired by the images and experiences of my life. The things that make me tick — and cuckoo!
Commission a Cuckoo Clock
Cuckoo clocks are part of our culture as Americans. They hold our family memories, our dreams.
Jodie’s Story
What do rubber duckies and quilts have to do with cuckoo clocks?
Jodie’s path to becoming a cuckoo clock artist makes sense. It wasn’t her goal, but being cuckoo for rubber duckies and quilts led her to being cuckoo for cuckoo clocks, and ultimately making her own cuckoos.
How does one become a cuckoo clock artist?
Not by intending to do so, that’s for sure! It isn’t exactly an occupation on anyone’s radar, including Jodie’s. Until she just simply had to start making them. Once she showed them to the world, she was deemed a cuckoo clock artist.
We build enchanted boxes of joy.
Handcrafted on the Farm
Cuckoo Clocks have been handcrafted for generations using the time-honored tradition of German clock making.
We are building upon that tradition here in America, right on the farm in Georgia, by creating cuckoo clocks that reflect the things we love, our American heritage, and that are at home in today’s homes.
To us, cuckoo clocks are an art form. We don’t make lots of them; we put time into making each clock be what it tells us it wants to be.
The mechanics of the clocks remain the same for over 200 years: our clocks are powered by gravity via weights. Simplicity in motion!
Our clocks are made by husband/wife team Jodie Davis and Mark Rowell using a combination of technology and old-world hands-on craftsmanship to create family heirlooms.
A hallmark of Black Forest Cuckoo clocks is their signature German quality. A high standard we uphold!
